Chutney Media Agency Ltd provides publishing services to carefully selected third parties. The Chutney Media Agency Ltd App Privacy Policy is to help you understand what, if any, data we collect as a result of you using an app published by us and what we do with that data. Chutney Media Agency Ltd is not repsonsible for the content of the apps which remains with the partner organisation.

Simple Summary

Our apps collect anonymous usage data so the partner organisations who publish using our services can see how their apps are being used. We don't collect any of your personal data. If you contact a partner organisation, they will have their own relevant privacy policy of how they process your data.

What access to your device does the Apps need?

Apps need access to read/write to your device’s storage (memory) space, including memory cards, e.g., SD card. This allows for a download of the audio reading of the books to be stored on the local device and played while the app is running. The user has the option to give permissions for this to happen or not.

What information might we collect?

Any app may collect the following type of non-personally identifiable information:
Type of device (e.g. Samsung S3).
Version of operating system (e.g. Android 9).
City/Country where connected to internet (e.g. Nairobi, Kenya).
Book(s) or chapter(s) read.

If analytics for the app is enabled and the device is connected to the internet, the app will connect from time to time to send usage information to Amplitude. If the app does not connect to the internet, the analytic data is not collected.

Apps do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII). PII is any information regarding a natural person, a legal person, an institution or an association, which is, or can be, identified, even indirectly, by reference to any other information, including a personal identification number. During the sending of the data, the IP address of the device you are using is used (which will change over time). We cannot and do not wish to identify any person from this data.

What do we use your information for?

Any of the anonymous information we collect from you may be used (by the partner organisations) primarily to gauge how many people use the app and how they are using it. Secondarily, it may be used to improve our application to better support our users, wherever in the world they are located.

How do we protect the information we collect?

We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. This includes internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, and physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store data.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell or trade any data we collect to outside parties. Any data collected is owned by and the responsibility of the partner organisations for whom we publish. Usage data is transferred to trusted third parties to assist us in operating our app (for example Apple and Google app stores), conducting our business (for example Google Analytics and Amplitude Analytics), or servicing you.

Your Consent

By using Chutney Media Agency Ltd apps, you consent to our privacy policy. You can opt-out of sending your anonymous analytics data to us in the 'Settings' section of all apps published by us.
